Archeopark

You can take a closer look at the unique Paleolithic settlement and learn many details about the life of our ancestors in the time of mammoth hunters in the archeological park in Pavlov. The exhibition space should evoke a visit to the cave, almost the entire building is hidden in the terrain wave.

Field exposition of mammoth hunters on the outskirts of Pavlov, in the place where the settlement from the period of the Young Paleolithic was located and which was declared a national cultural monument in 2010, a modern field exposition was created. The asymmetrical white towers protruding from the ground resemble rocks that rise on the slopes of Pálava. The arrangement of the collections also corresponds to the non-traditional concept of the building. You will see not only settlements from 25 to 27 thousand years ago, but also art objects, tools, ritual graves. The biggest attraction is experimental archeology, in the exhibitions you will see mammoth bones and other finds from the vicinity of Pavlov and nearby Dolní Věstonice.

From the outside, the building looks like a meadow with irregularly spaced skylights made of white exposed concrete. The main building with exhibition space and the necessary facilities is designed as a reinforced concrete monolith, the interior of which is a combination of exposed concrete, oak wood and glass. Archeopark received the Construction of the Year 2016 award.
